About the opportunity

The North Down & Ards Small-Sided Games (SSG) programme delivers fun, inclusive football for young players across the area each weekend. We’re passionate about creating positive experiences for children, coaches, and families — and we’d love your help to share those stories with our community!

🎥 Role Description

We’re looking for a Volunteer Social Media Officer to help capture the excitement and energy of our youth football.

You’ll attend weekly match days to take photos and short video clips, create engaging posts, and help grow the league’s online presence. You’ll play a key role in showcasing the best of grassroots football and helping more families discover what SSG is all about.

No formal experience required — just enthusiasm, reliability, and creativity!
This role would suit someone interested in:

  • Sports media, journalism, or marketing

  • Digital content creation or photography/videography

  • Community engagement or event promotion

Ideal for students or anyone looking to gain real, hands-on experience in sports communication and digital media.

Tasks and responsibilities

  • Capturing photos and short clips at Saturday matches (approx. 2 hours per week Sept-Nov & Feb-May)
  • Creating and posting content across social media platforms
  • Highlighting players, teams, and positive stories from the league
