Leeds Festival Volunteer Role Description

Volunteering dates: August 26th-August 31st

Volunteer training dates: TBC but normally a week before the event.

Sport in Mind are going to have an AIRHUB at this years’ Leeds Festival and we are looking for a team of volunteers to help support the event. The role will include helping set up our AIRHUB, taking down the AIRHUB, aiding festival goers that might be struggling with poor mental health and offering them a safe to take time out. We can offer them a cup of tea and a chat, or just a quiet place. We aim to spread awareness of Sport in Mind, it would be great to raise our profile in the local community. Volunteers will be asked to commit to 5 x 6-hour shifts, ensuring there is a 12-hour gap between each shift. All volunteers that help at the event, will be given free weekend tickets to the festival and the option to camp on-site in staff camping. Each of the 4 teams will have a member of Sport in Mind staff or volunteer as a Team Leader, and teams will consist of 4 Sport in Mind representatives. Volunteers will be given Sport in Mind merchandise to wear whilst on shift at the AIRHUB.

The volunteer role can be intense at times, you may come across intoxicated festival goers, safeguarding concerns, different weather conditions, and challenging night shifts. Last year, we received great feedback from volunteers who said they thoroughly enjoyed the experience and found it rewarding.
