Easter Event Volunteering 2026 Ulster Folk Museum, Cultra

National Museums Northern Ireland

About the opportunity

With Easter just around the corner and the promise, we hope, of brighter warmer days, we are looking for volunteers to help us celebrate Easter from a bygone age.

Easter takes place this year on Sunday 5th, Monday 6th and Tuesday 7th April and we warmly invite you to join us. With Spring in the air and a spring in our step, we invite you to welcome visitors to celebrate Easter at the Ulster Folk Museum with fun for all the family!

Whether visitors are wearing their Sunday best and Easter bonnets for a traditional Easter stroll, or taking a more casual approach to the celebrations, they can discover the origins of the Easter egg, try their hand at themed crafts, and meet talented makers demonstrating heritage skills, including Easter card making in the Print Shop. They can also get involved with traditional games, sample tasty food, and enjoy live music.

On Easter Monday (6th April) visitors can participate in traditional Easter Monday egg rolling on the Bleach Green, find out more about the cake dance, and enjoy pipe band performances throughout the day.
