Leeds Hospitals Charity

Stockroom Volunteer - Horsforth (Wednesday and Sunday Afternoon)

Leeds Hospitals Charity

About the opportunity

Let’s ‘Do good together’ by volunteering.

If you would like to support us behind-the-scenes, you can apply to be a Stockroom Volunteer. Some tasks you would get involved with would be supporting our charity shop team with the sorting, steaming and pricing of new donations.

By volunteering you will help to raise important funds to support patients and staff across Leeds Teaching Hospitals - whilst meeting new people, learning new skills and having a great time!

This is a flexible role - 4 hours a week - We're looking for volunteers who are able to support us on Wednesday & Sunday afternoon's.

What you will gain from volunteering:

  • Regular updates and newsletters

  • New skills badges

  • Develop soft skills

  • Long-term Service Badges

  • Certificates of Recognition of Service

  • Opportunity to attend celebration events

  • Informal catch up, coffee event, phone calls

  • Support from Retail staff in the shop

  • Support from Volunteer Services Team via email, phone call and face to face

  • Communication through our online volunteering platform – Assemble

  • Access to webinars about wider charity Impact – via Assemble & Emails

  • Charity discounts by using Assemble email

  • Opportunity to join in with wider charity Fundraising events E.g. Rob Burrows Marathon

  • Guaranteed interviews for charity roles

  • We are able to provide a reference after 3 months of consistent volunteering

  • Meet like-minded people who are just as passionate about helping as you!

This is a flexible role - 4 hours a week - We're looking for volunteers who are able to support us on Sundays at the Horsforth shop.

We do need you to complete some checks
A DBS check is not needed, but we need to ask you about any unspent convictions as part of our safeguarding procedures – please see attached Statement on Recruitment of Ex-Offenders and the Risk Assessment. Not to worry!, we'll send all the details that you need to complete this part of the application when you reach the informal interview stage.

A criminal record will not necessarily prevent you from becoming a volunteer & we'll support you through this process as best as we can.

As part of the application process, we require one reference from someone who has acted in a senior position to yourself and who has known you for at least 6 months.

You will need to supply an email address if applying online, please get in touch if you have any questions about this role or need help applying. Helena, Fatima and Ben will be happy to help: Email: volunteers@leedshospitalscharity.org.uk / Telephone 0113 539 7020.
