Saxmundham Town Council

About the opportunity

Saxmundham Town Council is looking for friendly, enthusiastic volunteers to help us prepare for and run our Christmas Fayre on Saturday 5 December 2026.

There are lots of different ways to get involved, from getting creative with Christmas decorations to helping with event administration, preparing the venue or becoming one of our Grotto Elves on the day.

You don't need to have previous volunteering or events experience – all skills and abilities are welcome, and you can help with as much or as little as you have time for.

What could you help with?

🎄 Decorating & creating magical spaces
Help us transform the venue into a festive Christmas wonderland, including creating a magical grotto and decorating the craft market areas. If you're creative, enjoy making things or simply love Christmas, we'd love your help!

Help with emailing and phoning stallholders and performers, organising schedules, keeping paperwork up to date and supporting the event organiser with various planning tasks.

✨ General event preparation
Help prepare signs, organise and set up areas for the fayre, organise grotto bookings and gifts, and help with the many practical jobs that go into making a community event happen.
