Do you live in Leeds? Do you care about the health and wellbeing of communities in Leeds? Looking for an flexible role? This could be for you!
This is a flexible role to attend events across Leeds, working closely with NHS and Public Health supporting their approach to improve vaccine uptake.
Talking to people and increasing awareness of NHS vaccine programmes across the life course including maternal, child and adolescent, adult and seasonal vaccination programmes.
You choose what events you want to join us. Please note that the need for volunteers can be at short notice.
Activities include - leafleting (to promote upcoming events), attending wellbeing events, galas and fairs and supporting vaccination clinics (talking to people about current vaccination themes). These include - Childhood immunisations, MMR, Shingles, HPV, Flu and Covid vaccines.
We will provide you with up to date information through our newsletter and regular contact via emails.
There is a wide range of support available linked to this opportunity:
Access to the training you need to have effective conversations
Regular training to keep up to date with key vaccine information
Sessions with other Community Champions to share experiences and learning
Sharing key vaccine messages with communities in different ways
We welcome applications from people who English isn't their first language.
Community Champions are asked to share health messages with communities in different ways, such as:
· Through face-to-face conversations where possible
· Supporting community engagement activities to talk with people about health and wellbeing
· Sharing key health messages via social media
