About the opportunity

Do you work in and around Leeds?

We are looking for people who work in Leeds who would like to support their colleagues and/or people who attend your workplace to have the information key health messages which will help them feel supported, make informed choices and stay safe. 

Through this project we would also like to hear from you about your experience, and your ideas for dealing with any local issues or concerns.

 This is a flexible, informal volunteering role.

There is a wide range of support available linked to this opportunity:

  • Access to the training you need to have effective conversations 
  • Regular question and answer sessions with Public Health
  • Sessions with other Community Champions to share experiences and learning

Community Champions are asked to share health messages with communities in different ways, such as:

  • Through face-to-face conversations where possible in your work place/organisation
  • Sharing key health messages via social media 

 You will - 

  • Receive regular updates on key health information from trusted sources
  • Support friends, family and the wider community to remain informed and up to date on the latest information
  • Feedback any local issues or concerns you are aware of regarding health matters

Tasks and responsibilities

  • Support colleagues to remain informed and up to date on the latest information
  • Feedback any local issues or concerns relating to health and wellbeing
